Thank you to property owners of flood affected properties who have applied for building or demolition permits. If you have not yet applied, please contact the City’s Development Services department to discuss your property.

A reminder that building and demolition permits, and related inspections, are free of charge for flood inundation zone properties if you apply prior to December 31, 2023.

Did you know, you may also be able to create additional development on your property? Rentals are in high demand, so constructing rental dwellings could benefit property owners and displaced residents.

R1 zone permitted uses:

 

  • Single family home
  • Duplex
  • Detached secondary dwelling (laneway home, carriage home, coach house, garden cottage, etc)
  • Secondary suite(s) in single family or duplex buildings

R2 zone permitted uses:

 

  • Single family home
  • Duplex
  • Townhomes
  • Detached secondary dwelling (laneway home, carriage home, coach house, garden cottage, etc)
  • Secondary suite(s) in single family, duplex, or townhome buildings
